Eric accompanied Frau Stewart on a study trip for three weeks where he took in the sights, sounds and tastes of northern Germany. We experienced the atmosphere on the coast of the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, and even cycled a bit.
I would like to express my deepest thanks to the Goethe Insitut for their generosity in granting me this study program and the New York State Association of Teachers of Foreign Languages for the stipend toward the some of travel costs of the trip. This was an experience of a lifetime for me, and I count myself as extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to learn so much about an area of Germany I had never seen before, to acquire new methods of language instruction which I will be applying immediately in my classes, and to have my life enriched by the outstanding teachers and German language professionals from all around the world with whom I spent three amazing weeks.

Beim Goethe-Institut möchte ich mich für die Großzügigkeit, mir die Teilnahme an diesem Programm anzubieten, und der New York State Association of Teachers of Foreign Languages für das Stipendium, mit dem ich einen Teil meiner Reisekosten bezahlen konnte, ganz herzlich bedanken. Es war ein Erlebnis, das in meinem Leben unvergleichbar war, und ich schätze mich glücklich, dass mir diese einmalige Gelegenheit gegeben wurde. Ich lernte viel über einen Teil Deutschlands, den ich vorhin nicht kannte, erarbeitete mir neue Lehrmethoden, die ich so bald wie möglich im Unterricht verwenden möchte, und mein Leben wurde von den anderen Deutschlehrern und Fachleuten für Deutsch als Fremdsprache aus der ganzen Welt, mit denen ich drei herrliche Wochen verbrachte, bereichert.
